Discover the Hidden Gems of Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve

Woodland Garden with Native Wildflowers & Ferns

The Woodland Garden is a gorgeous two-acre garden highlighting more than 400 species of wildflowers, ferns, and select shrubs and trees, with a focus on native plants that grow well in our region. The garden’s peak bloom occurs between March-June and is luscious and inviting year round. A portion of the garden is a Certified Monarch Waystation, featuring native milkweed species and nectar plants, with the peak bloom time between July-September. The centerpiece is the babbling brook, arched bridges, and lovely pond.

Forested Trails and Pollinator Meadows

Enjoy nine miles of easy to moderate trails that meander through shaded woodlands and wide paths in open meadows buzzing with pollinators. The Kathy Dennis Memorial Bluebird Trail leads the visitor along a path to visit 22 bluebird houses. A favorite family-friendly destination is the Frog Pond to see sunning turtles, frogs, and salamanders.

Forest Friends Playground

This is a 15,000 square foot ADA-accessible playground that is a child’s dream. They can climb up the 12’ tower with three slides, climb a giant turtle or newt, play inside a canoe, and spin or swing! Nearby are covered pavilions, picnic tables, and the Rockasaurus Nature PlayScape.
